Shorefront Voice

Shorefront Voice

Welcome to Shorefront’s collection of oral histories recorded by its founder, Dino Robinson. Recordings prior to 2002 were produced during the organizations Shorefront’s early development under the name “Through the Eyes of Us” and several were part of a publication under the same name. Each file contains the mp3 file, and pdf transcription.

Audio files were digitized by the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture “Community Curation” project Fall, 2019. Additionally, this project was supported in part by an award from the Illinois State Historical Records Advisory Board, through funding from the National Historical Publications and Records Commission, National Archives and Records Administration. Additional support comes through The MacArthur Funds for Arts and Culture at The Richard H. Driehaus Foundation.
