Launched in 2024, Shorefront’s Intergenerational Interview Project is an eight-week program that brings together local high school students and community elders. Guided by historians and journalists, students learn the skills to conduct oral history interviews and immerse themselves in the elders’ personal stories that have not been comprehensively documented. This project provides a platform for their voices, illuminating the lived experiences behind the headlines. It hopes to ensure that future generations will need not repeat the far too frequent refrain: “I did not know…”
