Bill Logan (former Evanston Police Chief), and Gene Bell are the founders of the Fellowship of African American Men (F.A.A.M.) that began in 1958. It began as a youth after school basketball camp for black youth. It integrated during the 1970s and continues to this day throughout the North Shore. It also offers tutoring and youth development activities. An article about FAMM appears in Shorefront Journal, Vol 8, No. 2, 2007
