Hellen Cromer Cooper was born in Evanston, IL in 1906. She graduated from ETHS and Northwestern University and involved in several social clubs and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. She speaks on life in Evanston and at Northwestern. Her first job after college was working in the field of social welfare and speaks to the changes that happed that “destroyed a helpful system” in the 1960s. Shorefront Journal Vol 1, No 2.
